Director Resignation
Edmonton, Alberta - January 22, 2008 - Athabasca Minerals Inc. (TSX Venture: ABM) (the "Company") would like to announce the resignation of Doug McDonald from its Board of Directors, effective January 19, 2008. The current board consists of the following individuals; Ted Rousseau, Dom Kriangkum, P.Eng., Dale Nolan, GSC, Ray Harris, Shaun O'Connor-Parsons, and Wylie Hamilton, P.Eng.
The Company would like to thank Mr. McDonald for his time and efforts, and wishes him well in his future endeavors. The Company is focused on building shareholder value through continued development of its land holdings located in the Fort McMurray and Peace River regions of Alberta. The Company recently completed a drill program designed at evaluating subsurface salt deposits in the Fort McMurray region. The principal use of salt is in the chemical manufacturing of such products as chloralkali chemicals (caustic soda and chloride) and soda ash, which are widely used in the oil sands industry.
